Three new GA4 updates improving data visibility & reporting

by Vlad Simion

Google Analytics has introduced three key updates designed to enhance user insights and reporting efficiency.

1. Percentage Values in Report Tables

Users will now see percentage values in each row for all detailed reports in the “Reports” and “Ads” modules. This enhancement provides a clearer view of each row’s contribution to the total, enabling more informed decision-making.

2. Missing Session Start Notification

A new notification icon will appear when a report detects a high rate of missing session_start events. Clicking the icon provides detailed insights into the issue, its cause and guidance on resolution, ensuring more accurate session tracking.

3. High (not set) Rate Notification

When reports contain a high percentage of (not set) values, a notification icon appears with an explanation of the issue, its cause, and steps to mitigate it in future reporting. This feature helps improve data quality and reliability.

These updates empower businesses to analyse their data more effectively, troubleshoot issues proactively, and ensure greater accuracy in measurement.
